Aviation Facilities
Tobermorey Station has fully fenced RFDS ops approved uncertified airfield.
- YTMY – Elevation 575ft.
- Coordinates: South 22’15.361, East 137’57.499
- The airstrip is all-weather gravel, 1250m long is E/W- 09-27.
- The windsock is on the southern side of the strip adjacent to the 27 threshold.
- There is no cross-strip.
- AVGAS and Jet A-1 are available (pre-order) at the strip.
- There is a large gravel/grass parking area capable of safely parking several aircraft.
- UHF contact for the station is UHF 3 – duplex.

In addition to the YTMY Airstrip, there is a dedicated and fenced helicopter landing area on the southern side of the main Station House.

Aviation Fuel
Aviators requiring AVGAS or JET A-1 aviation fuels are requested to contact the Station directly to pre-order your fuel requirements. Pre-order is required to ensure we can order and meet your fuel needs prior to your arrival.
Fly-ins, Packages & Accommodation
Tobermorey Station is the perfect destination for your next ‘Fly-in’ or ‘Aviation Nomad’ stopover. Several of the Station staff are qualified pilots, so we understand the needs of aviators, their families and friends.
Tobermorey Station is able to design packages to suit fly-in guests including transfers, ensuite cabin & room accommodation, meals, bar, tours and experiences for your group. Contact the Station now to design and book your aviation adventure!
Joy & Charter Flights
Located on the NT/QLD border between Alice Springs, N.T and Boulia, QLD, Tobermorey Station is the gateway to a Red Centre aviation adventure! We offer joy flights and charter flights, by our fully qualified commercial pilots, that give you the best seat in the sky to see the stunning features of our Station as well as our local attraction, the breathtaking ‘Running Man Rock’. Register your interest by contacting the Station for available flights:
- R44 – ‘Running Man Rock’ – flights (May to August) – up to 3 people
- R22 – Station Tours – 1 person
- Cessna Caravan – East Coast to Tobermorey Station charter
- Cessna Caravan – group flights to ‘Running Man Rock’
The Station is able to provide customised accommodation and meal packages for all charter guests.
